Since our class was cancel on Monday, i didn't post anything on that day.
Today's topic will be covering Computer Meditated Communication also known as CMC.
CMC is form of communication or interaction between two or more people via through separate computer.
- people interact, exchange, perceive information, culture, thoughts, ideas via computer medium such as E-mails, Blogs, Wikis, chat rooms, audio and video conferencing.

CMC is also used in Education as it is implemented for long-distance teaching or learning. It was first use in the late 1980s and 1990s with the introduction of Communicative CALL. In the mid 1990s allowed direct communication with the use of Internert chat room.

In the late 2000s, CMC was implemented for long distance learning.
There are two types of CMC, which are
- Asynchronous CMC
- Synchronous CMC
Asynchronous CMC, where communication are not synchronised real time. mesages are not exchanged and replied immediately.
- E-mails, Internet Forums, Messages Board and Blogs
Synchronous CMC, is communication between participants that are synchronise real time. this type allows direct communication between participants.
- Messenger, video/audio conferencing and internet chat rooms
Synchronous communications allows teachers and learners to interact without being in the same location with the use of Video conference and E- tutoring.
Another example are E-lectures and Short courses on the internet.
With CMC it allow participants to collaborate not only on works but problem solving with the use of Google Doc, Google Driver, Blogs.
CMC learning offers learners easy access to communicate with others learners.
Unfortunately, CMC lack of real human contact and lack of socio-emotional and non verbals cues.
